Máxima: Queen of Brooches

5 April 2013 12:48
Princess Máxima is famous for her sense of fashion, her style and her class. Striking and colourful or elegant and classic; it depends on the occasion she is attending. Her outfit is always perfect down to the last detail, and it usually has a stunning brooch as an eye-catcher.

Creative with brooches

Whoever takes a look at pictures of Máxima, cannot but conclude that she loves brooches. Classic, antique brooches with tear-shaped, freshwater pearls and magnificent diamonds or brilliants, but also examples with colourful gemstones in organic shapes, such as a butterfly or a swan. The princess is also creative when it comes to the place of the brooch: on the chest, on the shoulder, in the waist, on the hip, in the middle above the stomach, on the cleavage of a ball gown, on a hat, on a large scarf or on a poncho. It is always surprising to find out where Máxima has pinned her brooch!

White pearls

Antique Style Web Store offers lovely brooches that are similar to the brooches that princess Máxima wears. Máxima often wears a silver brooch that is richly decorated with diamonds or brilliants and a shiny, tear-shaped, white pearl. This pearl is often a loose element in the brooch. Similar types of brooches on Antique Style Web Store, are the brooch Pearl Drop Fabergé and brooch Pearl Bell. Sparkling Swarovski gemstones add a stunning effect to these brooches.

Round brooches

Whenever princess Máxima wears a sash or an assymetrical dress, she usually selects a classic, round brooch that is shaped like a star or a flower and pins it on the shoulder. A stunning sapphire, emerald, ruby, aquamarine gemstone or pearl is the centre of attention. Brooch Revival with pearl and brooch Asterales are wonderful, similar brooches.

Bows

At the baptism of princess Amalia, Máxima wore a remarkable, beautiful brooch shaped like a bow with an orange/yellow citrine gemstone. Antique Style Web Store has a similar brooch in its collection, namely, brooch Floral Ribbon. This brooch is decorated with three, bright, smoky quartz gemstones. Even more brooches shaped like ribbons can be found in the category Brooches placed under Jewellery.

Coronation pin

It is not just princess Máxima who likes to be seen with this type of jewellery, queen Beatrix also appreciates a beautiful brooch. After 30 April 2012, her brooches will sadly be seen less often. Antique Style Web Store has included the Coronation Pin in its collection in honour of the abdication of the throne. The pin has been designed specifically to commemorate this special occasion and it can be ordered online here.
