Louis Comfort Tiffany

The name Tiffany refers to Louis comfort Tiffany (1848-1933). Tiffany was an American glass artist and designer. He got inspired by the glass panels in the Chartres cathedral and decided to experiment with coloured glass in the shape of applied arts. He did this by wrapping pieces of glass in copper foil and then welding them together. The Tiffany lamp was born. Tiffany’s goal was to combine art with the needs of everyday life.
