Colourful, cheeky, cleverly made and eccentric. In 2017, Art Deco Trade launched the first cube-shaped Coloured by Art© Tuschinski table lamp. Subsequently, the collection expanded to include chandeliers, ceiling lamps, a wall lamp and pendant lamps. By now, the Tuschinski lamps are well-known and famous.

Koninklijk Theater Tuschinski (also known as Pathé Tuschinski) is a six-screen cinema on Reguliersbreestraat in Amsterdam. The theatre was commissioned by Abraham Tuschinski and opened on 28 October 1921. The building was designed by architect Hijman Louis de Jong.

The Amsterdam School style in which the theatre was built is a quirky form of Art Deco in which Art Nouveau motifs can also be recognised. The cinema is world-famous and was named the most beautiful cinema in the world by Time Out (magazine distributed worldwide) in 2021!

The Amsterdam School style is akin to expressionism and is characterised by the use of expressive and fantastic forms.

Fascinated by the Tuschinki Theatre, Art Deco Trade has manufactured beautiful Tiffany lamps to its own design, using the Amsterdam School as inspiration. See the series here!
