A stunning lamp made according to the pâte-de-verre technique by Emile Gallé (1846-1904). He was a French glass artist and furniture designer who lived and worked in Nancy. Popular motifs in his artwork were plants and insects.
The subtle green and yellow coloured lamp was made with great skill. Sultry red roses decorate the glass, mushroom-shaped lampshade. The so-called marquetry de verre, glass in glass inlay combined with etching techniques are lovely to look at!
